Some things to consider when you are ready to sell your home:
Price is everything in our current market. Be price smart - look at the prices of homes that have recently sold in your neighborhood. Remember your home is worth only what a buyer is willing to pay and buyers today have the same information you do about recent comparables.
No need to remodel – but get rid of the clutter!! Get a head start on packing. Clear off countertops and clean out your closets to make your home look more spacious.
Sometimes clutter is not the problem – instead homeowners with limited budgets have sparsely furnished rooms. Try adding a few potted plants, pillows or inexpensive artwork to brighten these spaces.
Those beautiful colored walls you saw and copied from HGTV sometimes turn out to turn off buyers. It is usually a good idea to repaint most of the walls to a neutral color. This helps buyers visualize your home as theirs.
- Remember your Realtor will be glad to provide you with information on current market conditions, tax implications for selling your home and even options available if you are in danger of losing your home.
